27 From the time Amaziah turned from following the Lord, conspirators plotted against him in Jerusalem,[a] so he fled to Lachish. But they sent assassins after him[b] and they killed him there. 28 His body was carried back by horses,[c] and he was buried with his ancestors[d] in the City of David.[e]
